Saturday, July 28, 2007 yay!! i survived osim international triathlon at east coast park today. This is in tribute to my 200th post!! i must say this blog has helped me express my feelings and record down all the small and trivial things in my life. Thank you so much blogger!! it serves as a platform for me to express my feelings in words and let the whole world know of an insignificant individual like me around. Anyway, back to the details for today's triathlon. Woke up at 0600 to pack all the remaining of my stuff for the triathlon. After that, met josh, wei and lester on bus 13 to ECP. Thanks bros for your support!! The weather was fine then but the air was very "cooling". Went for breakfast and macs before hurrying all the way to car park E where the event was held. Its a 30 mins walk from there!!! Apparently, it rained the night before and our transition area was a mud field!! So had to walk around barefooted to prevent our slippers from being stuck in the mud. At 1045, we gathered at the swim start area for our wave. I looked around but saw no one who is of our age group except for the team of ACJC ppl who is participating in the mixed relay. The water was a cooling 26 degrees as told by the emcee! so, it all started at 11am with all the shoving and pushing into the sea. Must say that its physically demanding to swim against the current for the 1st 500m. Hurried to pass the relay tag to ziyi but slipped on the way and collided with another participant :/ after that was the downpour that started causing us to freeze in the rain (without my clothes). Hai.. how come i don't fall sick? wanted to pon monday also. Hahah.. anyway, froze in the rain throughout the whole thing and joshua completed our event by finishing his 5km rain. Received a finishing medal too (: after the whole thing, had to walk all the way back in the rain to subway which was so so far away. Had our well-deserved lunch at BK before going to pp to make the farewell shirt for dennis (: its nice so expect a nice surprise from us!! my entire leg and arm is aching already :/ guess i won't have to do PE on monday again. Time to hit the books!! Friday, July 27, 2007 as mentioned in my previous post, time flies. It has been 3 months since we registered for the triathlon. And tomorrow is the big day. Had not been praticising much for the thing since last month where i had a somewhat swimming frenzy. Joining the sprint event tomorrow which comprises of 750m swim, 20km cycling and 5km running relay event. Really hope we can finish the race tomorrow as an experience for us to remember!! will blog more after the race tomorrow. Have to report there by 0830 so have to wake up so early :/ shall blog until here for the day. Goodnight!! Tuesday, July 24, 2007 hello people!! i have changed my blogskin (: pls give comments on it on my tagboard thanks!! anyway, this is an outdated post on rapture 2007. Went to mediacorp studio for the performance and it was an enjoyable one. It had been a year since i been to the last rapture concert which was at esplanade. The atmosphere was different. The company was different as well. It really amazes me how fast time flies and passes you by until unknowingly, its time to take your A's and leave this school. Had gone for the NS medical screening on friday. Unknowingly again, we are going to enter the army soon. Still remembering the times when we were young and crapping all about how badly we wanted to protect this country. How cool it was to hold a M16 rifle in your hand. How exciting it is to steer a ship to battle. And how great it was to fly a fighter jet. Now, or rather in around half a years time, we might just be able to do that. Life is really like a dream. Wake up tomorrow and you see what you dreamt of yesterday becoming reality. Enough of the talking i guess. One day. one day i will try to explain all of life's mysteries and proof that life is not a dream. Sunday, July 15, 2007 the time now is 0130. Just came back from SAINTSODAC0607 J2 Farewell party. Throughout the preparation week for the J2 farewell, we have been kept busy doing all the stuff. Practising the songs, making the gifts, printing the photos etc. Even yesterday when we were going to have our farewell, we went to lester's house to rush to complete the gifts. Had to take a cab there as a result. But we never regretted it. It was so heart-warming to see that they like the gifts and songs that we prepared. It was all worth it. For our fellow J2 odacers. Went to zemin's house in yunan road (boon lay) for the farewell and it was so far. Waited for everyone before going in together (typical odac style). The J1s were still preparing the stuff when we arrived. But the house was already decorated with thingys to welcome us. Had some games like charades etc to play before having dinner. After that was mr lam's video and our chasing cars mv that lester rushed to finish. Thanks!! seeing that the J1s have no more items for us, the guys decided to play our song "till the end" and the "the last goodbye (remembering)". Hope you all like it (: It was really a very emotional motion for all of us as we looked back on the things we have done throughout our "reign" in odac. Looking back on how much we have changed, both physically and mentally. All these were inspired by our peers and of course our teachers. It is sad that mr lam will be leaving us for further pursuits in his career, All the best to him as well!! it is true that we once disliked him because of his harsh tone and words that he used to pressure us. All the words he said when we were J1s and also at the end of J1 (krabi). But to think back at all the things he said, it might seem harsh but all the words were of significant meaning in our life as a odacer. We are all going to miss him. I swear odac will never be the same without him. So, we had fun taking pictures with him yesterday. The J1s formed up a guard of honour tribute to bid us farewell. It was really nice. Thanks so much!!! Time flies. I looked through the last year's pictures to put some pictures on this blog and i came across last year's pictures. We were once busy preparing J2 farewell for our seniors last year and now its our junior's turn to do the same thing for us. It is good to see that they are starting to bond as a team instead of being individualistic. Everything still remains the same. We are still as bonded as we were. Still as "ON" taking photographs and posing for shots. It may be the end of our time in SAINTSODAC but this period of my memory will always be in my heart forever. The times we shared, the things we did, the moments we had, all the good and bad times we been through rushed to my head as i am typing this post. Maybe some may say that its because i am so emo but no, i believe only the odacers will know how i am feeling now. To go through thick and thin together no matter indoors or outdoors made us bonded and together. All the activities we organised, no matter which taskforce we are in, we all would feel happy after every successful activity. All the 23 people and the 5 teachers that made my life in ODAC fulfilling and fun. Thank you all!! i love all of you (: [forgot to take a pic with yumin, clarice and abuzar] Lastly, i like to dedicate this song to my dearest odacers (J1 & J2 alike), the last goodbye (remembering), Hope you all like it!! The Last Goodbye (Remembering) The videos played yesterday are uploaded onto youtube already. From tomorrow onwards, i swear i will study very very hard to do well for prelims. Block test 2 is totally screwed. I reflected and made up my mind already. This is the last weekend that i really enjoyed and forget about studying. Prelims is about 1 month away and A's are less than 4 months away. A's, the exam that will determine your career next time. The course you CAN take in uni. Your path in life next time. You can say how unimportant it is cuz there are successful people in society today without a good degree or even a good A level result. But how many out of the billions in the world are these people? less than 5%? probably about there. I am becoming more and more worried about A's. Merely scraped through O's with only a few months left mugging before the actual exam. How about A's? i am not confident i can do that as well with the current depth and difficulty of the A level syllabus but i am going to try. Try very hard too. Goodbye teevees, goodbye games, goodbye life. Mugging shall begin tomorrow (09/07/07) and it will only end after A's. I am really sorry if i can't attend any more outings or functions anymore. Till then, mug hard everyone!! It's only 4 months away from real freedom. Come and find me in the school library everyday after school!! Some updates for this last weekend spent. Saturday was 08 BBQ which was really fun! a year since all of them came over to my place for the last BBQ which was accompanied by the rain which got us trapped in the sheltered walkway eating fried rice and some cooked food before taking umbrellas to the BBQ pit to start our barbacue. Yesterday was blessed with good weather. It was great to see them all again. Thank you everyone for coming for the BBQ!! pictures will tell the whole story. I am sorry for not going for the ODAC pot-luck party :/ promise to join you all next time.. after A's. Take care and mug hard too (: Wednesday, July 04, 2007 after 2 weeks of mental and physical stress, i am so relieved BT2 is finally over. Finally a time for me to sit down and relax.. for a while only. I swear i am going to start studying from monday onwards. BT2 is gone and over. I already roughly know wad my results will be like. Bad news today too. Our class got spilt into half for physics and i got eugene chan who is such *&@# actually both are as bad. Got to rely on myself again for physics. Working doubly hard starting from next week already. Anyway, today was quite nice. My dad's birthday and we went to eat at the no sign board restaurant at kallang. The ambience was quite good there. The best thing of all is that the new family camera Sony Cybershot T100 takes very nice photos (: No signboard restaurant The Oasis |
